I thought it was about time I added this. This was the first piece of flash anything, let alone animation I did. It was for a uni project, based largely on Tim Burton's Melancholy death of Oyster Boy stuff... I wrote the poem myself and did all the animation. The narrator is Neil Toogood, he has a fantastic voice. The poem is below:
Rubber Face Nigel was a useless young man
He had no talent at all and couldn’t do what you can
One day he was walking in pencil led town
When he slipped and he tripped and fell on his crown
As he rose from the ground, beneath him he saw
A lack of sketching where there was some before
In a bout of confusion he rubbed his sore head
And on the hand he had used was a fist full of led!
The artists of pencil led town cried in joy
“At last we can correct our mistakes with this boy!”
In the town Nigel now had some kind of place
To correct mistakes with his tyre textured face.
But alas the day did finally arrive
When Rubber Face Nigel ceased to be alive
For he’d rubbed out so much all over the place
That small rubber shavings were all that remained of his face
Argh, this is amazing along with the the way the world works. I'm so impressed.
The voice over actually sounds like the rohald dahl voice over in his cartoon films. (Not that I've seem them an endless amount). This makes me want to rhyme. It's brilliant really!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
